Beddgelert is an attractive village in Gwynedd. The Aberglaslyn Pass, the Colwyn valley and the Nant Gwynant valley join in Beddgelert. The village is in the heart of Snowdonia, home to the highest mountain in Wales and England. Beddgelert is popular with artists, cyclists and walkers. There are wooded valleys, mountain lakes and rocky outcrops to explore. A footpath along the banks of the Glaslyn soon leads to Beddgelert's most famous historical feature, "Gelert's Grave". Legend has it that this is the resting place of Gelert, the faithful hound of the medieval Welsh Prince Llywelyn the Great. Landranger Grid Reference SH590481
