The National Trust house and garden of Wallington Hall is close to the village of Cambo, in Northumberland. The house was built by Sir William Blackett in 1688 and has changed little since. The Hall's modest facade hides a sumptuous interior that was re-modelled in the mid 18th century. It is now the historic home of the Trevelyan family. The garden can be divided into three areas; the peaceful lawns and flowerbeds around the house, woodland and lakes, and an L shaped walled garden and conservatory. Much of the garden was influenced by 'Capability' Brown, who went to school in the estate village. Landranger Grid Reference NZ025841
