Overlooking what is now Cowm Park Estate, Whitworth

Brian has spent all his life in Whitworth. His grandfather (Abraham Jackson - known locally as Ab Mossey) was a quarryman / artist and Brian says that this is where he inherited his love of art. His other grandparents, Ned & Mary Alice Clegg, farmed Cote Farm (pictures 3 & 8) now developed as Cowm Park Estate. Ned Clegg was famous for his prize winning Shire horses, which he showed until his death in the early 1960s.
