The 95 page book contains almost 120 colour images, descriptive text and both common and botanical names of some of Rossendale's flora and fauna. Proceeds from the sale of the book were donated to the R.S.P.B. the R.S.P.C.A. the Lancashire Badger Group and the Rossendale Search & Rescue Team.

Species are catalogued as :- Upland, Water Ways, Woodland and Gardens, and Meadowland. TV wildlife presenter Bill Oddie (born in Rochdale) has written a message of support in the book and former Rossendale MP Sir David Trippier has written the foreword.
