About me

I started my allotment in April 2009 when I was offered a half plot at John Lee Fold allotments in Middleton, Manchester. It was hard work for the first few months clearing, removing the weeds and building raised beds. The work paid off and my family and I benefited from home grown beetroot, potatoes, sweetcorn, just to name a few.

2010 - I decided to take on a second half plot (must be mad) and leave this as a traditional plot (not raised beds), this second plot I am going to use to grow potatoes and larger veg such as courgettes, pumpkins and squash. This is if I get it ready in time. There is a lot of work to do clearing the whole plot (see pictures below).
