Spalding Flower FestivalThe Spalding Flower Parade and Flower Festival is held every year, in early May. Up to a fifth of a million tourists congregate on the small market town of Spalding, Lincolnshire to watch the famous tulip parade. Millions of surplus tulip heads from acres of fields are crafted into decorated floats and paraded through the town and surrounding villages. Most churches also hold flower festivals during the hectic weekend. Householders sell their home produced flowers, vegetables and plants from their front gardens - all at realistic prices! Because of competition from growers, Garden Centre products and plants are also cheaper than in the North of England where we live. Springfields Gardens is host to three days of entertainment. The decorated floats can also be viewed at Springfields before and after the parade - (admission charge applies at Springfields). Click on the Festival photographs for a better view
