Born - 1956
Burly builder - he's 6ft 5in with a 48 inch chest
Tommy says - I used to have a six pack stomach, but now it looks as if I've got seven or eight packs down there.
Attitude - Down to earth, relaxed "I was happy before I did TV and I'll be happy after."
Married - Wife of 15 years (Maria) and three children.
What next? - A DIY book for a £180,000 advance - and, despite being a builder, he expects to finish it on time.
Finally - Reluctant star Tommy turned down Ground Force three times.

This image of Tommy was submitted by web site visitor Mike Child. Photograph taken at Gardeners' World Live - Birmingham - 2002. Mike had hoped to see Charlie again this year, but the organizers had re-scheduled the celebrities, so it was not to be! Maybe next year.

Some background info:- Tommy Walsh runs his own construction business in London, specializing in the sort of landscaping work he does on Ground Force. He's over 6ft. tall and is now an equal member of the team. In the earlier programmes Alan and Charlie seemed to do most of the talking and Tommy seemed to be 'just the labourer.

' When he left school, Tommy went to work with his father who was already doing garden landscaping. Tommy did some building work for one of the producers of Ground Force. She asked his advice on some TV pilot shows she was considering and was so impressed by Tommy's knowledge that she invited him to screen test with another unknown, named Charlie Dimmock! Sorry to report ladies that Tommy is married.
