Accommodation
Heritage Lodge, a spacious 4 bedroomed house with hot tub, in the popular holiday resort of Rhyl, in North Wales. Located less than 400 metres from the beach, the property is available for holiday let (Friday to Monday.... entry time 11am on Friday...departure time 3pm Monday)
Lochfield Farm in rural East Ayshire was the birthplace of Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of penicillin. The farm is run by Phil and Heather Scott and has two, modernised, self catering cottages for hire, both with free wi-fi. This is a cosy, scenic and tranquil retreat, four miles from the town of Darvel. We visited here in May 2017.
Bryncalled Barns have been lovingly restored by Sam and June Hornsby. We stayed here in February 2010 and can highly recommend them as well equipped holiday cottages in rural Shropshire, close to the village of Bucknell.
Hindle Pastures - Whitworth. Close to Rochdale and Healey Dell Nature Reserve. Only 15 minutes from J20 of the M62 and 20 minutes from the M66. An elevated, peaceful location with stunning views.
Birding
Malcolm Bigg and his bird boxes. This Surrey garden is also home to frogs and has visiting foxes and hedgehogs.

Whitworth Historical Society, founded in 1973 and located at the Whitworth Museum on North Street, Whitworth. The Society welcomes any artifacts or photographs relating to the area and has a monthly, wintwer lecture programme.
